Father's Day!

Father’s Day is just around the corner, are you ready? Mother’s and Father’s and mother/father like figures have very important roles in a child’s life and development. There is no secret that strong parental figures have a very positive and lasting impact on children for the rest of their lives. Parenthood is the perfect balance of the two roles, each with their own qualities and characteristics that add their own special value. However, with Father’s Day approaching, we would like to honor and thank all the great dad’s out there and the important role they play in their families lives!

Research has proven that active and involved parents can lead to the success of their child. A father’s influence can impact a child’s social experiences, academic growth, and future achievements. Many studies show traits like affectionate, supportive, and involved in father’s can aid in the child’s cognitive, language, and social development. A positive father figure can also influence the development of a strong inner core, positive self-esteem, and authenticity. Fathers are just as essential as mother’s in the big picture when preparing children for adult life.

How are you celebrating Father’s Day this year? Here are some fun traditions you can start:

Give homemade gifts – special homemade gifts always have a special place in people’s hearts. The ideas are endless and it’s a great keepsake for years to come. One gift idea could be to decorate ties, let your child illustrate things they love about their dad.

Go on an adventure – plan a fun trip with everyone, but something dad will definitely like. Think about what he loves to do but doesn’t always have the time to do. Think hiking, sporting events, or visiting tourist attractions.

Enjoy a meal together – does dad have a favorite restaurant? If so run and make a reservation. Or cater in, bring the food to your dad and invite family over to celebrate. If you are good in the kitchen, a homemade meal could bring lots of smiles to dad’s face.

Me time – parents work really hard and don’t always get the rest they deserve. Think of something he would like to do and gift it to him for him to do on his own time, then celebrate the day with the family, best of both worlds!

Let us know what are you doing to celebrate your dad! Here at Star Montessori, we love to care for your children and know that it all starts and ends with great mom’s and dad’s like you! Thank you for trusting us with your child!

Happy Father’s Day!
